Web Browser’s Secure

By EF Cussins

footshootThe main gate way to the Cloud is through the web browser. There are a few applications that go out to the Cloud on their own, but the mass majority pulls an application and data from the Cloud through a web browser. The vast majority of Cloud applications are designed to use Internet Explorer.

This past week, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 8. After months if not years of hard work Internet Explorer 8 was hacked after only being released from beta in 2 minutes. One blogger has commented on Internet Explorer 8 as Microsoft shooting itself in the foot.

Apple’s Safari, the supposed the most secure of all the web browsers was exploited in the manner of seconds by a guy named Charlie Miller. Firefox has been around for years and has been slowly gaining ground over Internet Explorer in popularity and use. Google’s contrubution has been very impressive.

At this point I want to note that Chrome has only be in use for less than a year. It is slowly gaining ground. The reports of Chrome’s security level is quite promising. Let us see how Chrome holds up as it gains in popularity and more people try to hack its’ security.
