HAAS SAAS and You
Some people have trouble understanding the relationship between some of the acronyms. This is especially true with HAAS, and SAAS.
HAAS stands for Hardware As A Service. This is where you would pay for the use of the hardware, i.e. server, data center and all the people it takes to maintain it.
SAAS is for Software As A Service. This kind of software can range from a basic word processing program to a complex content management system that inter acts with several data bases and other applications. Cloud software usually is used through the web browser on your computer.
One way to describe this relationship.
- HAAS is the skeleton that holds everything together and gives the Cloud its’ strength.
- SAAS is the software that is wrapped around the hardware. This gives you the look and feel of the Cloud.
- People, yes, you along with anyone else that uses this Cloud gives this Cloud its’ power. That is right people give a Cloud its’ energy. Without people accessing the Cloud, using it, it will get smaller and smaller and eventually go away.
