There are many advantages to what is known as Software As A Service, or SAAS. To the home user SAAS is known as Google Docs, or Quicken Online. Larger companies and/or cooperation see software as applications that run of a central server that is served out to multiple workstations.
Considering that state of our current world economy, businesses and families are faced with the need to tightening their belts. Having less cash on hand moves them to look for ways to save money. Using software that is in the cloud can save 100’s or 1,000’s or millions of dollars.
SaaS offers a very attractive option. The return on investment can be seen within a year or two. Financial consideration has prompted many companies to go to cloud computing to manage the back-office requirements of their business. Expense management, procurement, and supply-chain management are just a few of the other services that ran through the cloud to work stations.
Some SAAS vendors claim to be feeling its’ positive effects. “We see evidence that our sales pipeline is growing because of the recession, rather than in spite of it,” says John Girard, CEO of Click ability, which provides content management as a service. “One of the great things about SaaS and cloud computing more generally is that they’re pay-as-you-go.”
More companies, each month, are starting to move resources to the cloud, utility-style services from the likes of GoGrid, and Google are advancing forward by providing SAAS applications. SAAS on demand has not only grown with database and office type application, but website design, building, and management. is leaving the ftp client and desktop for a web based interface. Gearing up for the increased demand on cloud computing has many network engineers and program feverishly working meet the increase demand. The big IT vendors and cloud computing providers are advantage of of this growth. Enterprise interests moving forward to reality. Amazon, IBM, Intel, Oracle, and Microsoft have all taken a foot hold in one way or another.
In the past 30 days, Google has release Chrome a launching pad for cloud based apps, Microsoft announce the soon release of cloud operating system. The server, computer, and network speeds are their. It is just a matter of time where computer stored software will be in the minority rather than the majority.
